Beyond Bridges
The Beyond Bridges project is a collaboration with a local community partner examining the role of stigma and shame in benefits receipts amongst individuals and families living in rural poverty. The project was conceived of and co-led by Angela Zhang, M.S.W. and Dr. Kate Griffin. The project has resulted in multiple professional developments as well as presentations at academic conferences.
Substance Use and Shame
The Substance Use and Shame project started as a shared passion for reducing shame and stigma between the CEO of Naxos Neighbors, Joanne Kelley Cogdell and Dr. Kate Griffin. Thus far the collaboration has included joint work on literature reviews, student projects focusing on shame and parental substance use disorder (SUD) and SUD and older adults. Dr, Griffin has also been honored to join Joanne in her work with students and other faculty on the Notre Dame campus in discussing how to support community members impacted by SUD.
